When You Don't Have To Move To Be Sent By God

There are times when you don't have to move to be sent by God.

During the reign of King Jeroboam there was a blind prophet named Ahijah (1 Kings 14). The king was wicked and his son was ill. Jeroboam told his wife to visit the prophet in disguise and find out if his son would live. But you can't fool God. Before the king's wife arrived God told Ahijah about the ruse. Then he told him what to say.

The moment she reached his doorstep he said, “Come in, wife of Jeroboam. Why this pretense? I have been sent to you with bad news." He had been sent to her... and never left his house.

There are times when you don't have to move to be sent by God.

Sometimes God's sendings come in the form of receiving a message and obediently passing it on. Other times God may send you think about something, reconsider, or let go. And sometimes God sends you to wait.

This thought is deeply comforting to me right now. I have been waiting for over a year now. The hardest part has been dealing with the lack of movement, progress, production. All of my life I've made things happen. But you can't fool God. Understanding the 'sentness' of this waiting place is very freeing. God is moving even as I stand still.
